Family Classes
Mixed Age Groups (7+)

Many of our instructors have families that train with us and these family classes are fast becoming our most popular sessions. Many parents have expressed over the years how they would love to train in something like a martial art but can't because they have kids.

We looked to solve that challenge by running martial arts classes where parents, sons and daughters can all train together we always make sure that adults and juniors get the right coaching level within the joint class.

These classes are suitable for ages 7 and upwards, students are welcome to train whether they come on their own or with a family member.

We often take enquiries with new students saying they will get fit before joining so they don't start classes out of shape. We say the same thing: Join us now and we will help you get into the shape you desire whilst having the benefit of learning martial arts at the same time.

Building Confidence
Training With Purpose

We are very proud to have been able to work with some amazing students over the years some of whom have joined us as very nervous, shy individuals. At the Bexhill club we pride ourselves on building strong, independent, students who are able to grow beyond themselves and develop into confident, independent martial artists.

We always welcome the younger students who may be a little unsure of things or new experiences and are happy to work with them and their parents to give a great martial arts experience. Adults and Juniors this applies to you as well, come down and see what the club has to offer.

What People Say

"My son, Jasper, joined the little ninjas program at age 4 and has now progressed to a Blue Belt at the age of 7. The smile on his face says it all and the instructors are fantastic with the kids classes...."

Emma M.

"Both of my kids have been attending class once a week for a number of years; it helps them to focus their boundless energy into something constructive, and is greatly beneficial for them in terms of discipline and concentration"

Sarah C.

"I absolutely love the fact that my daughter Lexie found Kuk Sool Won. She became a member of the Hastings club at the age of 4 and at 13 became a 1st Degree black belt. Lexie has now joined the instructing team who are just brilliant and work with the children to bring out the best in them. Lexie found the classes a lot of fun without realising that she was learning and now she is teaching the little ones the same things that were instilled in her. She also competes in national tournaments and has won medals in all categories that she competes in. The club is like a family and we all help one another, wouldn’t go anywhere else."

Joe B.

"These classes have given me confidence to feel in control, not only of my body but of being able to take care of myself in an unwanted situation. Not only that but the classes are highly fulfilling within a family like environment. It becomes more than a hobby and teaches the importance of focus, the power of the mind and respect."

Agne N.

"This is a great place to learn martial arts, especially for those of us who are completely new to this sort of thing. I have been attending classes for just over a year now with my partner and we attend 2 or 3 classes a week and they all offer different things to enjoy. Tuesdays are generally busier and have a wide variety of abilities who attend (I was terrified by the thought of being in a class with the black belts for a long time) and it's great to try different things. Thursdays are generally a bit quieter and so it's easier to get a bit more attention from the instructors to practice your own forms and techniques. Saturdays are a new class for us and are good fun too, more of a family oriented class and so great to train with some younger people too. My teenage daughter has just started attending the classes with us as well and she thoroughly enjoys it so far. I have graded up twice since starting last year, and feel much more confident in the classes. I am becoming more flexible which is great for someone with a desk job! Having never really stuck at a sport or going to the gym since leaving high school I am really pleased to realise as I write this that I have been coming for just over a year and am more motivated now than when I started to keep attending class and levelling up as far as I can go. The instructors are so much fun and very helpful, with something different going on every session. I wouldn't have kept at it for this long without that."

Becca F.

"Cannot recommend highly enough. My ASD son has been attending classes for a little under a year and passed his first grading last Sunday - he is now the proud owner of a yellow belt... and a set of nunchucks!! The instructors are kind, patient and fair. They are aware of my sons additional needs and ‘quirks’ but do not pander to him - something that is really important for this mum but equally as important for my son. He is learning about respect, keeping fit and learning a skill that could keep him safe one day."

Catherine C.

"My family and I have been training for a few years now and really enjoy it. The instructors are great and classes are fun, definitely recommend trying it out."

Stephen P.

"I have been training here for just over 3 years and the atmosphere is very welcoming and friendly. It's a fantastic club and a great way to improve fitness and flexibility all while learning an extremely comprehensive martial art with lots of kicks, hand stikes, throws and joint locks."

Dean S.

"Excellent club with fantastic instructors. Great classes for kids as well as adults, highly recommend"

Agata J.

"I have trained with the Bexhill team for longer than I dare to remember. They are all friendly, welcoming, and dedicated to helping everyone achieve their best. Highly recommend."

Sam P.

"Highly recommended these classes and instructors, I have been training with the school owner for over ten years and he truly knows his art.......Perfect for fitness in a friendly, welcoming, atmosphere....."

Brenden O.

"The instructors at this club are lovely and dedicated martial artists who passionately love and enjoy their craft. they go above and beyond to make students feel comfortable and keep the lessons fun and interesting- 100% recommend this club!"

About Us

Our Instructors and Sessions
Our martial arts sessions are run by DBS cleared, fully insured, qualified instructors who have trained for many years. We are proud to have our chief instructor Joe, along with other members of our instructor crew who pride in giving our students a friendly, disciplined and supportive experience within every session. The utmost care is taken to ensure every student progresses in a manner that is catered to their needs as it is understood that everyone has their own way of learning along with personal strengths and weaknesses, this way our students get the most from their training time with us. Through careful explanation, practical application and coaching that adapts to each individual, you will gain greater command of your body as you progress in your flexibility, confidence, balance and strength.

We see many students coming into our classes who had expressed concerns prior to joining as they had no background of martial arts training. Many worried that they weren’t flexible enough, had poor stamina, were ‘too old’ etc. rest assured that is not a problem. We welcome students of all abilities, age, gender and backgrounds and if you join you will find many people in exactly the same place as you are. These classes are here for growth and progression, not judgement, everyone has to start somewhere.
